Meet Our Staff

2009-2010 School Year
Janice and her family moved to Texas when her husband received transfer orders.  She taught 6th grade in San Antonio School District and coached a number of sports teams. When she returned to the Parkesburg area, she spent time raising her family and then accepted the head coach position of the Oxford Area High School Swim Team.  In 2002, she and Miss Karen began the Early Learning Center with 9 children enrolled.  Today, there are almost 60+ children enrolled.

Family: 
Married for 16 years, she and her husband, Joe, have 4 children.  When not at the Early Learning Center, Janice likes to spend time camping, playing softball and volleyball, making crafts, and being with her family.

Janice Dagney

supervisor in three states, and adjunct professor of education at three universities.  Carol chairs the Educational Task Force for the Pastoral Council, which is how she became involved with O.L.C-E.L.C. She is the guiding force behind the Early Learning Center’s success.

Family:
Carol has been a member of O.L.C. parish since 1994, where she is a Proclaimer  of the Word and a member of the Pastoral Council.  She and her husband, Jim, have been married for over 30 years.  In her free time she enjoys traveling, cooking, sewing, knitting, painting, and helping with the Early Learning Center.

year off to have her sixth child, and then returned to be the teacher of the 4 year- old-class and now teaches one of our 4 year old classes and our Pre-Kindergarten class.  Karen was a teacher in Our Lady of Consolation Church’s CCD program and ran the parish Vacation Bible School.  Karen loves to work hands-on with her students.

Family:
Karen has 6 children between the ages of 24 and 5.  Two of her children have graduated from O.L.C-E.L.C and her youngest is in our Kindergarten this year.  Her husband of 25 years, Keith, is active in church ministries.

Coatesville Area School District for seven years.  She also taught 1st grade in the West Chester School District.  This is Jen’s 6th year at O.L.C-E.L.C. Jen is a very dedicated teacher.

Family: 
She and her husband, Neal, have been married for 12 years.  They have two children ages 9 and 7.  Both children completed our Preschool and Kindergarten programs.

Sharon Delestienne
4 Year Old, Pre-K, Kindergarten Aide

Experience:
This is Sharon's second year with OLC-ELC. She comes to us with 12 years of volunteering with children.  During the time Sharon took off to raise her family, she volunteered at the preschool and elementary school levels. She was the den leader with Cub Scout Pack 20 for five years. She enjoys working with children and she is a great asset to us.  She is also a parishioner of Our Lady of Consolation.
Family: 
Sharon has been married for 23 years. She and her husband, Doug, are the parents of four boys ages 20, 17, 15 and 9. Her youngest child attended OLC-ELC. She enjoys spending time with her family doing outdoor activities.
Tammy Tygielski
2-1/2 Year Old, 3 Year Old, and Pre-K Aide

Experience:
Tammy has a lifelong love of children. She babysat for the majority of her teenage years, helped with bible school for many years, and has volunteered extensively at the OLC-ELC. Tammy and her husband have been Coreteam members of the Lifeteen/Edge program at Our Lady of Consolation for over 8 years. Outside of the preschool, Tammy worked for an investment firm for 7 years full-time and then part-time for 6 years so she could be home with her children.
Family: 
Tammy and her husband, Ken, have been married for 13 years and have two young sons who have both graduated from OLC-ELC.  In her spare time Tammy enjoys playing with her children, camping, going to the beach, reading, gardening, doing crafts and simply spending time with her entire family.

Kim Della Penna

Donna Martin

Experience:
Kim has always been around children from the time she was a teenager. She spent many summers babysitting and as a park and recreational counselor.  She has spent time teaching sports, arts and crafts, and telling stories.
As a young adult, Kim continued to take on life's challenges which led her to work for a large engineering and surveying firm. She held the title of Assistant Treasurer for 15 years.  She left the company in 2002 to focus on raising her family. 
Family:
Kim and her husband, Chris, have been married for 9 years and have two young children who have both attended OLC ELC.  The Della Pena family have been members of OLC for many years and have enjoyed giving many volunteer hours. In her spare time Kim enjoys spending time with her family playing games, hiking, canoeing, and enjoying the great outdoors. They also like to bake and make homemade pasta, eat popcorn and watch movies. But most of all Kim and her family love to just be silly and enjoy life together.
Experience:
Donna has been a member of Our Lady of Consolation since 1989 and been very involved in many areas of the church.  The first area Donna joined was Proclaimer of the Word. Several years later she became a Eucharistic Minister in order to take communion to the elderly and sick.  Soon after, she was asked to oversee the kitchen duties at the Schneider Parish Center for bereavement lunches, bingo, craft fairs, etc.  Donna is member of the Hospitality Committee and a Core Member for EDGE.

Family:
Donna and her husband have four daughters and one son. They also have fifteen grandchildren and two great granddaughters.  Donna enjoys reading, playing bunco, and shooting pool.  She is also a very accomplished swimmer.  Although she has a hard time following recipes, Donna enjoys cooking and making things as they turn out. Donna enjoys working with children and teens.  She enjoys not only teaching then, but also learning from them because their insights are so compelling and innocent, as well as refreshing.
